Thanks for the map. That is quite the nice tour of Pacoima!

I rode to work on Wednesday. Santa Clarita to Burbank. Felt great, but the Newhall Pass tried to kill me. I took the Old Road instead of Sierra Highway because it's a longer climb. OUCH! I did it, though. Then, the old road under the 5/14 interchange is ROUGH pavement, in the dark and concrete construction barriers made the lanes super narrow. It was so rough I lost a water bottle. Not to worry. I'm so cheap, I went back and found it! Going through there at 2 am would probably have less traffic than rush hour, though.
Back in '99-'00 I used to ride part of that commute from Sylmar (Foothill and Bledsoe) to Glenoaks and Scott in Burbank.

The old road under that interchange at 2:00 A.M. ain't nearly as scary as Glenoaks through Pacoima at 3:00. It was fine during the daylight. I just never did it in the dark, or got off the main road into those 'hoods.
