I first thought that the e-brake had to be used with the twist throttle but looking just now at the twist throttle connections I believe the e-brake could be used with either the thumb throttle or the twist throttle. I don't use the e-brake handles and I haven't had any problems. If I need to stop I stop pedaling and/or stop using the thumb throttle and apply my brakes. I also noticed that instead of riding full speed to the light if I just coast to the light when I see it changing to red I save wear and tear on the brakes and save battery power as well. I use two ties linked together on both sides of the front Bicygnal to secure it to the Topeak bar extender and the base of the front Bicygnal after I noticed it would always vibrate loose.

On my ride this morning, I received lots of smiles and confused looks from motorcyclists and car drivers. One even gave me the motorcycle solute. lol People find it hard to categorize my e-bike. Their eyes see a bicycle but their brains tell them that no bicycle can go that fast. The two signals seem to conflict with each other and I see a puzzled look on their faces. It's very funny.
