I firmly believe in making my wife happy and letting her win the small battles. That gives me AMO for the big ones when it matters.

Example:

1. Sure honey, I'll go out with you and your friends that hate me instead of my friends to see a romantic comedy with Julia Roberts!

2. Baby, I'm sorry, but I absolutely have to have this bicycle and we're going to need to throw out our luggage to fit it in the back seat...but it could be worse, remember that awful guy in that Julia Roberts movie who treated her so badly?!?
