No rider left behind

When I first became a cyclist, I rode with AYH (American Youth Hostels) LAW ( league of American Wheelmen) and various other bike clubs. If they had a ride no one got left behind, there were riders who watched out for stragglers, there were sag wagons, That isn't true here. I have attempted to ride with the club 5 times, and as soon as they hit the road out of town they lit their afterburners and left me in the dust. there was no route sheet handed out so you did not even know where you might catch up when they stopped for food or drink, so nothing to do but turn back and go find your car and go home. So now I am not going to ride with the hot dogs, I can ride the whittngton park loop as if I were in a Criterium, or just noodle along. Maybe I will find someone who is my speed, So far I haven't. It would prolly be a young teen a woman or another senior, When I raced we were mixed on the courses many times. Of course I didn't mind wheel sucking behind a female. In one race this girl outclimbed me but on the flats I just put it in the big ring and rode away from her, then when we climbed the hill again she would pass me.It was a good thing the finish line was in the flat section. her friends were cheering like "you can beat that old man" afterwards she claimed she wasn't trying to. But my son Timmy said out loud "yes she was ,Dad!" so that she could hear it.
