From: 6 miles inland from the coast of Sussex, in the South East of England

Bikes: Dale MT2000. Bianchi FS920 Kona Explosif. Giant TCR C. Boreas Ignis. Pinarello Fp Uno.

Only ever had one ride partner that was my pace. We were not evenly matched as he could climb hills and I could tow him on the flat. Unfortunately he died 12 years ago and although I have tried to find different riders and groups of my speed- I have finished up riding solo. I do occasionally ride with others and Mike- One of my neighbours is fine but we don't ride together often.

I am not a fast rider in any way and hills are taken at a pace so I can finish that one- and the next- and the ones that follow. On the 30 mile rides that I take with others- I am the one at the rear but once the mileage goes up- I find that I not only stay with them but finish up leading.

Not enjoyable rides for me so solo riding comes in. I am not competitive enough to wear myself out chasing others but I do have a tendency to just go out and turn the pedals. Not good for keeping as fit as I like so I use a heart monitor. Not on every ride but just use it as a check to ensure that I am in my working zone.
