Trying to find riding partners that match one's own natural pace is pretty much a futile exercise, IMO.
I agree on that. Most of the riders in and around Seoul ride MTBS. Nice ones, but still kind of slow. With most group rides though they ride about 10km/h slower than I want to go and its FRUSTRATING so I just don't bother with them. The race oriented rides generally exceed the pace I like (average of 26-29km/h) by more than I can maintain on an mtb - especially climbing. Thus they aren't much use to me either. I just ride solo with endomondo on audio coach mode comparing me to yesterdays ride. That and some good music is all I need to stay motivated.
