There ARE no drop rides out there. You just need to ride with the right group (or make one yourself!!)

One no drop style that the Cascade Bicycle Club uses on the hilly bi weekly Tuesday / Thursday night Eastside rides works great and you don't even need a queue sheet:

-One rider is designated Leader.
-One rider is designated Sweep.
-Each time the Leader approaches an intersection, he calls "Corner!"
-Which ever rider is in first position behind the Leader calls "Got it," and safely pulls out of the group and stops at the corner to direct all stragglers.
-Once the sweep passes by, the corner worker is free to bridge up as far and as fast as he or she wants.
- There are usually a few re-group stops during the ride.

This group includes a wide variety of talent. No one gets dropped. Strong riders take 5 or 6 or more corners in a 30 mile ride - if the group is strung out, bridging to the front can represent a big effort. If you want to just cruise along, stay a couple of spots behind the leader and don't take any corners. Those that are struggling, have the sweep (and corners) to keep them company.
