Two great Jens Moments:

~Giving the stage to Garate after sitting on him all day. Garate kept checking, kept checking, kept checking (hey man, those Germans just about owned us about a generation ago) and then finally throws his arms up in disbelief.
After years of trying and being thwarted, I finally got to see him in the flesh at this year's ATOC Baldy finish. He didn't win the stage, but in true Jens fashion, he finished many minutes ahead of l'autobus populated with riders nearly half his age.
I said, "Allez Jens! Bravo! Nearly there!" and he looked at me like he wanted to spit in my face. I didn't take it personal though, that spot was about 10-12 percent and I was spitting at hallucinations at l'Etape two weeks before:
