Hey if it helps any of you, hang in there and keep at it and you will get results.
Fresh into cycling, more like commuting regularly to university on my bike and have dropped over 20lbs since the beginning of June (this year!). Basically, it's been early morning walks, weekend hiking, bike commutes during the week (two or three days) coupled with the Endomondo and Lose It! (for calorie tracking) programs on my cell. There's still plenty more shape to get into, but progress is good.
Stick with it, believe in yourself and rock on.
