I sounds like a good idea to me for the first go as I can keep my material cost down abit.
I am a woodworker and have a spray booth in my shop. I normally spray lacquer or 2 part fiinishes. As I am still learning about base clear coat I was wondering what brand base coat some of you use?
Thanks
If you have a booth and have experience spraying lacquer, you should be able do well enough for yourself. PPG is readily available at many NAPA stores. If you aren't burying any decals consider one stage paint in their Omni line. If you're interested in BC/CC I would use DBC with DC3000 clear. For either the DP Epoxy Primer is good. Your material cost will be higher since you'll be buying a qt. of primer and it's activator, a pint of base, a qt. of clear and it's activator, then a reducer, but you'll likely paint more than one once you start and use it up.
