I still reckon you should keep saving until you can afford a whole bike; it's heaps cheaper. You'll prolly have a working bike sooner anyway.

You can expect to get by with only throwing $30-$50 at it straight away.

But yeah, if you have a local co-op, that's definitely the way to go; it could be vastly cheaper.
