I think Tektro Oryx is a great brake. Even better with Kool Stop pads, and another nice tweak is to shorten the straddle cable for a bit more leverage.
I was just thinking this afternoon when it's time for pads koolstops will be going on, and just read about shortening the straddle too, although I have it set pretty low already. Which may be the reason they stop ( IMO ) so well already.
fietsbob - yes a spectacular tumble over the bars would be great for the crowd. I did mine last year while nobody where nobody was around. Lucky I didn't need any assistance picking myself off the ground
