This is my first post here, so please let me know if this is not the right place to post this.

So I guess I have a couple questions. I am looking at a used 2002 Cannondale R2000 CAAD7 with Ultegra/Dura Ace components. The first question is regarding the bike in general. Is it worth shelling out around 500 bucks for a 10 year old bike? (I should say this is my first road bike purchase, so I've been looking at entry level 2012 models around $800 or $1000).

The second question is regarding older components: How do 10 year old Ultegra and Dura Ace components compare to current components? Are they even comparable? Would it be better even to go with new Sora or Tiagra?
