Maybe they don't care, but 90% of people on the planet can't even buy/get/use cars etc. You decide to "lower your footprint" is like a drop in the sea. Does it look like, in your country, town, most people ARE eco conscious and do bother to keep planet nice and clean? From where I live, it's beyond 99% of people's comprehension.
I am for all that eco stuff (if someone gave me the authority, I'd ban private cars completely, for all! There is no excuse), but I still hope to ride motorcycles on fuel as long as I live. Hypocricy at it's best?
As much as I'd like to disagree with you, I can't. At least right now, we're not "changing the planet" or making changes on other people's commuting choices. I agree - but wish I didn't.
