Don't remove the dimples if you don't have to. A little over paint might come off with careful use of extrafine steel or bronze wool with a little polish. If you must remove them then some chips of ice (dry?) in the cup may loosen it before you to pry it out carefully using a sharp edge. I'd avoid it if possible.

It would be great if you could retake photos of the bike with many detailed closeups of all the components, lugs, rims etc. How about the size of the wheels and seat post? The devil's in the details.
