+1 Unfortunately,paying someone to disassemble will cost as much as the parts will sell for. Selling locally really depends on where you live, and ebay can be a PITA, lots of issues there that we seem to discuss every month or so.

In an average market, nicer vintage bikes don't bring full value. More and more, its where I end up being a buyer. Now in a hot (and larger) market, you could do better finding someone who appreciates the bike. And of course, lots of the value comes from your marketing effort.

Please don't confuse ebay "asking" prices with "selling" prices. Many sellers never get their ask price. some are far from it. Value is determined once an item actually SELLS. Its easy enough to check SOLD prices.
