Pretty much all bike lanes except for the first couple of miles. Safe, because drivers know that hikers and bikers are present and many cars drive slowly to take in the scenery, not to mention handling the curves. Somewhat consistent grade; you never feel like you are going to die and have to stop. Surprisingly, there were at least a half dozen or so other bikers.

One guy actually stopped and asked about the trip because he wanted to do it with his son. Another one in a stopped car at a road construction wished me luck (lol).

On the way back (and for those familiar with the road, just before the hairpin turn) I heard "On your left" and much to my astonishment a guy wizzed by me like I was standing still. Absolutely amazing. I didn't get a good look at him, but he appeared to be in his 30s, definitely had a fit build and he didn't lose steam. I was hoping to talk to him at a scenic turnout, but he was long gone. I'm 54, but I just startred riding a month ago, so I'm not complaining.
