Properly inflate your tires. I've never gotten a pinch flat.

You'd also be amazed how much crap can be avoided by watching where you ride and picking the line with the least crap, even a large area of glass.

With that said, I didn't flat till July, but almost once a ride since then. Seriously I'm almost out of patches...
