Been there, done that, got the T-shirt, poster and CD. Switched to clipless in 2008 when I got my R500, finally took the plunge in November 2011. Shimano SPD-SL, P540 (an older 105 now) pedals and Adidas shoes, came to a stop on a U-turn, couldn't react fast enough/brain fade and fell to my right into a concrete curb. Only damage was my pride. Agree fully that anyone using a clip-less pedal regardless of the make will eventually take a fall, probably a panic situation if no other reason. Welcome to Club Tombay.
