Just thought I'd introduce myself. I've been lurking around these parts for several years and finally registered. Happy to be here. In all my lurking days, this has always come across as the most civil and welcoming forum on this site.

I'm a 48 year old, 6-3, 220 pound perma-clyde. I hope to get things down to 210, maybe 205 this winter, but anything beyond that would be tough. I'm basically built like a linebacker.

I've been riding seriously for the better part of the last 10 years. Mostly for fun and fitness with a few centuries thrown in. I'm planning on stretching my legs, as it were, and trying some brevets next year, hence the goal to lose some more weight this winter. I've been riding a Specialized Allez for quite a while (that never really fit me) but right now, somewhere in southern Wisconsin, my custom steel is being welded up for me. Very excited. Must ... wait ... a couple ... more ... weeks .......
