there have to be better options in sf than that (i hope). it sat in the rain, needs tires, tape, probably cables and housing, and an overhaul. and it's tiny. are you?

this is kind of a tough time to buy a bike. there's really nothing available right now in seattle for under $300, except the most entry level bike. and without skills yet, you need to find something in better shape than that particular cl find. if you're only interested right now in biking around campus, you might fair better with a heavy schwinn in real good condition with good tires. or wait a couple months for some colder weather to set in, and shop cl again for a better, lighter vintage steel bike when prices come down.

on the entry-level side, look for nishiki, fuji, motobecane, and sekai. try to find one kept indoors. let us know how it goes...
