WOW! Glad to get an assist via the internet on this deal. I am always amazed when people ponder an obvious deal. While they are pondering, I am grabbing, paying, and loading into the car. I do about a five second glance, WITH my hands firmly gripping the bike, while I am walking to the owner to ask about price. The glance is just a basic: ok, do I see some value? At the right garage sale price (I have gotten some bikes for $25 or less), as soon as I see $25 in value, I go. The fact that the bike may have some damage, or defects, who cares?
Like the Masi Gran Corsa I picked up at a garage sale back in May, OK, the stem was stuck (I had to cut it out, too bad as it was a nice TTT stem), and the rear wheel had some broken spokes, and there was some minor rust. But my decision was clear as soon as I saw the Campy seatpost (that alone covered the price). No way was I letting go of that bike.
"GRAB NOW, STUDY LATER!"
Super score, congrats!

Please don't confuse ebay "asking" prices with "selling" prices. Many sellers never get their ask price. some are far from it. Value is determined once an item actually SELLS. Its easy enough to check SOLD prices.
