I like a lot of the tires Geax offers but IMHO it's more a matter of the tire's construction quality and tread characteristics rather than merely the width that matters. I've ridden wide tires like Schwalbe Big Apples and Fat Franks that roll much better than some of the other thinner offerings from other manufacturers.

I think that moving from a lugged tread pattern to something more street oriented alone should improve things for you.
