I am trying to choose the safest route to bike my son to school. He would be on a Burley Piccolo behind me. The most direct route is way too dangerous with a kid. There is a route that would pass two other elementary schools, and there would be crossing guards at many intersections. Compared to using a parallel route a block over, do you think the rushing-the-kids-to-school traffic makes this option too unsafe? Or do the crossing guards make it safer?
