the eventual plan would be to find a modern group in all polished silver (like campy chorus or older SRAM Rival) and then use the SRAM Red with a modern weight weenie carbon frame/build. Isnt most of the upgrade in the chain rings and front derailleur? Which means you can probably rock some shimano rings and a new red front dr (or a shimano dura ace) and come really close to the performance of the newest group. I am running SRAM force and I love it. You should stick with this group for the carbon build and rock campy athena 11 on the rb1 IMO.
