Thanks for compliment, photogravity.

You're correct, the added three inches in length is in the stoker compartment.

I was fortunate enough to meet Bob Freeman at the Velodrome last week. I mentioned this bike to him, and he contacted Joe McElroy for me. I was able to talk with Joe for a few minutes on the phone the other day.

He was nice enough to answer some questions I had.

*He built bikes just as a hobby, from 1981-1987(only 35 frames)
*He built 5 or 6 tandem frames(He's not sure)
*My bike was built in August 1984, and sold for $1500 then.
*The original owner was diagnosed with MS about 20 years ago, and put the tandem away until sometime around 1998. He sold it then to it's second owner(who I purchased it from).
*About the geometry: Joe didn't have anything written down, but thought it was 74 degrees. He didn't build anything with less than 73

Joe was happy to see the photos of this bike, and that it's still in good shape. The town where He lives is about 40 miles from my house. I hope to plan a ride out there in the near future to visit.
