I sold my wife on the pugsley by convincing her it was just cool and abandoning any pretense of practicality (and in fact the pug has had no practicality for me whatsoever, on the days it would be the best commuter, generally the whole county is shut down so no work and I need to stay home w/ the kids whose school is closed anyway). It's not a card one can play very often (I'm thinking every 10 yrs or so). For me it was also my 40th bday so looked good next to a 2-seater sports car (which she would have preferred for herself in fact) or other possible midlife crisis retail therapy.
