I knew it. But I was actually thinking that you put away your bike riding pocket shooter and brought out the good camera for the still shot at home base. I wasn't thinking you were new to dSLR. For somebody who shoots as much as you do you need a dSLR. I can testify that you already know how to use it as evidenced by those gorgeous red bicycle shots.
My new phone has a very respectable point and shoot camera in it and will have to do for the road bike but I still find myself taking the hybrid, even on many longer rides because my dSLRs, much like my SLRs used to be, and I are permanently joined at the hip.
