Mavic R-Sys SLR - who's actually riding them?

I'm going to preface this by saying that I'm very well aware of the R-Sys' chequered history and I'm also aware that they have those silly Mavic hubs with the bushing as well as the aerodynamics of a Mk. 1 Land Rover.

That said, I'm thinking about selling my carbon wheelsets and replacing them with a single high-end alu wheelset, and from an aesthetic point of view, the R-Sys SLR (or the Ksyrium SLR) is an obvious contender.

I know I can build myself a sub 1300g wheelset (e.g. Stans Alpha 340) for a fraction of the cost of the Mavics but I'm wondering how the ride qualities, in particular lateral stiffness, would compare.

I'm not overly concerned about aerodynamics. My current most used wheelsets are a Soul S3.0SLs and Reynolds MV 32Cs, at 31 and 32mm respectively. I'm very light and I live in a windy country, so I'm not interested in anything deeper and honestly the aero gains of a 32mm rim are pretty negligible so shallower would be fine.

Thoughts?
