I didn't realize the google maps were so thorough for the bike routes. I thought they just avoided the major streets and stuck you on the next route. The route past the schools is the on suggested by google, so maybe it will work. I didn't check yet because they just started this past Wed. I will try this week. We did check it out at an off time, and it's a very nice route when it's not busy. I'm also thinking that we should be passing by just a bit before drop-off time, so maybe we'll miss the worst of the traffic, but still get the crossing guards.
