These 'Arturo Cycle Shoes' from the UK are pretty decent as far as wide cycle shoes go ('touring' style, no drilling for cleats, though you could use the old school cleats that attach w/tiny nails). The sole is properly stiff, but not as much so as tends to be the case with contemporary road shoes. I think I actually have an unused pair of these in a UK 10 (45ish, generous, probably around 11.5US) in a box somewhere.
