During this great learning experience they have to live on their own and pay for everything with the money they earn from this "class". If they refuse the "class", they do not pass high school. No college would accept a person that had not taken the "class". You cannot get a GED without this "class".

Working lunch rush at an Applebees)Or similar) would be a good choice. As would working for any independent retailer. Your employer decides your pass/fail.

P.S. I took this "class". That is why my customers like me and I tip about 25%. Next to paper boy, waiting tables is about the worst job on the planet. Mostly due to people who have never taken the "class".
You stole my idea! Seriously, I've always thought that should be part of a mandatory "Home Ec"-type of class, where they also teach boys to sew and other useful stuff so that people don't expect their mommies to do stuff and don't act like complete tools out in public. (A not to all Canadians, sometimes you guys act like you don't know and you don't tip when on vacation in the USA, but speaking on behalf of all waiters past and present, we KNOW you KNOW. So don't do that anymore.)
