Yes, different tires have different sounds. I still remember hwo my Specialized Turbo S and VS tires used to make their own type of whooshing jet-like sounds. I haven't heard the same from my other tires that I used after them (Hutchinsons, Vittorias and Schwalbes). They all make some sort of sound in varying volumes but not as nice as how the Turbos sounded. Michelin Bibsport TS120s also made nice road music.....
