Both my wife and I have jobs where we have to be able to get to work at any time no matter what. It would be impossible for either of us to be car free. I can be car light, but she cannot. I think it would be nice to live in a society where we could all be car lite/free. I think it would make us healthier. But the reality of it is there is a sector of jobs that require you to have a car to get to work at the drop of a hat.
