I'm having similar results as SimplyRed -

To get it somewhat into range I had to SLOW DOWN 8MPH on the flats and no pedaling on the decents! Going from 23mph down to like 14. Hills from 10 down to 6.

it's taking forever to get to work!!! What's the bestway to work up from these dog-slow speeds?

Commute route 10mi hilly long ascents
Riding simiilar route but varying distances for 4yrs
Resting is 55 and Max is 197BPM

Before: Warmup 2 minutes
Ride 35Mins @ about 178-183BPM light huffing and puffing at the end of the ride
53/19 gear 95 cadance

Now Warmup 2 minutes
Ride 30min @ 133-165BPM
5 mins 168-175 on the steepest part of the ascent
39/21 gear 101 cadance
