I've been trying to make myself a swimmer, but I struggle with getting my stroke and breath in synch. I'm thinking of treating myself to a few coaching sessions as the weather turns here.
I also do pilates (mat and reformer) and/or yoga a couple of times a week. The value of the core work is evident in many ways, and "long muscles are strong muscles".
I'm not a coach but for me it has just been persistence that has provided success. I often see people swimming next to me and you can tell they are thinking too much about their movement.
