Boats, folks....
Enough to make most cycling spending habits look cheap. After owning boats all my life, I have shifted my allegence to cycling once and for all. Over the years, I have noted that when I'm into sailing, I don't have time for riding, and vice versa. I am currently selling my 38' ocean-going cruiser.
Now, I buy the best cycling equipment that I want and have a growing stable of bikes. The money spent is FAR LESS than what I had to to maintain any boat.
Now, let's talk about the other benefits. Boating contributes to practically "zero" physical benefits compared to what you get from riding. Having said this however, I will never regret the time I've spent floating. It's just that I'm at that time of my life when fitness, and my fascination with fooling with stuff, come together with cycling.
