I have a small solar charger (Goal Zero) that fits nicely either on my front rack (Nashbar) or on the outside of my saddlebag (Carradice Nelson Longflap). I've never tested it, but I'd bet on a reasonably bright day I could run my Android smart phone all day long with any of the GPS/Speed/energy draining apps running.
