Lilly's school is two blocks away. She just started 4th grade and is allowed to ride but doesn't want to bother, she says. If she changes her mind there's the stingray and the cheapo MTB in the front yard for that. The OLMO will be for training on the trail. Speed-skating practice starts up in a couple weeks and coach has talked about adding some cycling to the mix this year! I've already been asked by some other parents to keep my eye out for smallish bikes for some of the younger skaters. We'll see how serious they are about it and I'll be pointing them towards some of your finds and methods for finding them.
I hadn't thought about the chain length when I selected it. There's a short section of normal links for adjusting length. If I can get away with using just one or two of those and be short enough, great. But I won't cut any hollow pins out, if not. There's always other chains, just thought it'd be pretty cool if I can use it. I'll be doing some more mocking-up in the next couple weeks at the shop and I'll be sure to snap a few more pics
