I disagree with some points about transporting recumbents though. I have a Hollywood recumbent specific rack designed for hitch mount. It adapts to both 1 1/4" and 2" receivers and is stable and very easy to load. Hitches can be installed on most vehicles and generally only cost about $150. I easily haul my 67 1/2" wheelbase Tour Easy all over the county on the back of my S-10 and Camry with my Hollywood rack.
And people are allowed to disagree. When I was looking at one it was much longer than a road or MTB bike and would not fit in the back of my Tahoe without putting the rear seat down. I didn't even know they made a bent specific rack and I can promise you I can not climb a 8 percent hill as well with a bent as I can with a DF road or MTB. That is just me and I didn't say it was a problem for everyone. We take things and base them with what we are used to. I can load two bikes at a time with road bikes when our group goes out of town but I don't believe I could even pick up a lot of bents with one hand. I now have a Saris Cycle on pro rack for 4 bikes. So because I didn't have a rack when I was first looking at bikes before I got back into it I took a tape measure and try to see if I could get a LWB low rider in my truck without putting the seat down. So from my perspective they were a PITA to load even if they looked like they might be cool to ride. Yours is too long to fit sideways for when I am by myself and want to pop my bike in the back without putting the seat down and that was all I was trying to say.

I don't ride one all the time like you do and I don't have an issue with comfort on a DF so the trade offs don't apply to me. The Op asked if any of us rode one and I have. Two in fact but they didn't work for me and I thought they were hard to push up hills. I thought they were heavy and I thought they were comfortabe in the flats. So all I was saying was as long as I can still attack a long climb faster on a DF I am not ready to move to a bent. But when I do I might as well go all the way to a Trike because you can always have a chair with you.

But still no where in my post was I saying someone should not get one only that I am not ready for one yet. I don't have a beard or a pony tail.
