I certainly don't need the R-Sys (or Ksyrium SLR, or whatever) but having decided that carbon wheels are basically quite annoying I want something that seems a bit 'special' as a substitute.
Great. I need data. Show me radial deflection amounts for the best and worst of modern wheelsets. Then show me how that amount of deflection is detectable by a human after 2cm of tire and air, plus 1cm of saddle flex, on a chipseal road.
I'm happy to accept that I might be wrong, but I just can NOT tell the difference, and I don't believe others could in a double-blind test either. I think that the effect of variation in measured pump pressure would be greater than radial wheel stiffness.
