had a pretty bad accident with a cab. coming downhill in brooklyn and a cab turned into me. i was going about 24mph and slammed on my brakes but too late. i started skidding and slammed into the front of his cab right on my right thigh. the force sent me flying over and i slammed into a telephone pole and landed on the sidewalk about 20 feet from the intial impact.

my body went into shock for a short time. i was shaking like crazy and couldn't move the right side of my lower body. right off the bat there were about 5 or 6 people looking at me. someone called 911 and i asked another guy to call my GF, who was expecting me home. another guy was a guy who races in the kissena series (and was actually a passenger in the cab) with me. amazing luck. i trusted him to take my broken bike while i was taken to the hospital. not sure how it faired...i'm going to pick it up from him today.

all in all, nothing broken...thank god. took some xrays and it looks fine. just one hell of a massive charlie horse i guess. i also have a sore on my back where i hit the telephone pole, but it's not too bad. i was very lucky nothing was broken. i must of hit the cab just "right". whew!

anyway, i have a police report. the cab's information so i guess i gotta see about getting the bike fixed. thanks to everyone that helped on the scene. it's a good feeling to have people help you like that. ride safely folks!!! once i get off these crutches i'll be back on the bike.
