freewheel , 13-34t 7 speed plenty, look at what your LBS can get, sun-race.. etc.

I have often wanted to ask others here:

What hubs and rims would look at home on a mid 80's touring bike, yet still hold up well.
I have heard others mention Mavic 500, Suntour XC, vintage XT. But I want others to speak up.
What would look right on the OP's vintage Trek?
