Plastic fenders just aren't that heavy. I checked the specs on some web sites, and Planet Bike fenders weigh about 1 lb (465 - 590 grams), depending on the model. A full water bottle probably weighs more than that. If you can notice that much difference lifting them up, perhaps you need to hit the weight room and work on your biceps!
