Had a couple of logging trucks play the "how close can I get game" with us while riding along the Hood Canal on hwy 101 this week. There is very little, if any, shoulder in sections so vehicles approaching from the rear were a concern. My stoker (wife) started pointing to shoulder huggers to move over. About 75% of all vehicles moved across the double yellow line, but there were enough close encounters for us to decide not to ride back. A couple of logging trucks came within a foot of us when there was no oncoming traffic and could have easily crossed the center line. I took that as a "stay off of my road" intimidation. The other scary drivers were large RVs with drivers who didn't seem to have any clue as to where their vehicle was on the right side. They seemed to be focused solely on not crossing the Sacred Center Line. Next ride will be on a more rural road.
