Thanks for the comments. Most of the parts are definitely in need of polishing. The cranks and brake levers especially are scratched up to the point I feel a polishing is a must. But, they are anodized, so I know I'll need to strip those (I've done this before with good results). I'm just debating whether, after I polish the parts, it's worth trying to duplicate the satin/anodized finish, or if a mirror finish would look better against the frame and other finishes.

It can be replicated by removing the anodizing on the part, polishing it to close to mirror finish, then lightly hitting it (in proper directional strokes) with a fine Scotchbrite pad to apply the directional "grain". Lots of parts out there (especially some high line cranksets) that have this "grained" light satin finish. I know early Mavic cranksets have it.
I've done this before on parts I had restored and the results for me were usually even better and more even looking than original.

Take a look at some of them to see if it would be something you would want to apply to your components for that bike.

Thanks for the advice. What type of Scotchbrite pads do you suggest? I know they come in different colors/grits.

Agreed! The stem is staying as is. It's in great shape. (I included it in the picture just to show the contrasting finish compared to the other parts.)
