I don't think anyone knows what breed he is. I got him from the SPCA here in Victoria, he was found as a very young pup with his litter mates on a reserve in the Parksville area, no parents or caretakers present. I think I've settled on a Doberman/Sheppard/Lab mix as the most likely combo. I call him a "default dog" or "reserve special" because very similar mutts are common here, often roaming reserves. I figure he's fairly outbred, as his health, temperament and fitness have been exceptional throughout his life - he's 11 and still rips it up on pretty intense XC mountain bike rides!

Additional gratuitous Brisco picture:

Does he just run behind you? That sounds awesome! I've just started getting into XC mountain biking and would love to have a dog that i could bring with me.
