^ Interesting! I presume then if I were to knock the lower cup out of the head tube I'd discover the insert collar is black. I kind of like the new color. Sort of unique.

Ok, so bottom of the line Deore, but not the cheap stuff I normally see on dump find bikes (which is normally shot beyond use).

Ordered a new pair of Ritchey Speed Max this week. Figured they are a nice compromise since I don't like knobby tires at all.



I started cleaning components the other evening. Maybe by the end of the week it will be trail (and picture) ready.

Thanks for nailing down the date. They do seem to be more of an "out west" bike. I'm guessing some resident of our town relocated here from CA since it has a Bikeology Sticker.

Kind of sad to see them toss it out--- but sweet for me!
