I just took the frame and parts to a vintage connoisseur friend who said that the frame feels like quality DB tubing, perhaps 531. the bare frame weighs just over 5 pounds and the fork just under 2, so this is definitely not cheap gas pipe junk. he also said the lugs look characteristically French, but still no consensus on the make. the BB uses standard English threading as well. He's using the parts and gave me a wheel with a 120mm SS Bianchi hub in exchange. so long as this frame is a good size for me, it's going to become my main commuter/ road bike in single-speed arrangement. I think i'll have to strip the paint to the bare metal and start again, and hopefully I will find some markings on the BB or something.
