So if he's convicted he faces a MAXIMUM of 8 years in prison? That's it? That's really sad that you can kill someone only get 8 years in prison. I'm pretty sure if that was my wife i'd be waiting for him when he was released to give him a warm welcome and make him wish he was never released.
